Chef: Isabel “Chavela” Alvarado

Isabel was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States at the age of 9. She grew up farming and cooking for the farm workers. Isabel married and had five children, learning English along the way. She opened and ran two beauty salons in New Mexico while raising her family and maintaining their home and farm. She is retired and still loves to cook the authentic Mexican meals today.

President: Ronald Alvarado

Ron has spent over 15 years working with farmers and assisting them with producing the highest quality products while conserving our earth’s natural resources. He is the last of Isabel’s five children all born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and like his siblings, he grew up farming and eating the fruits and vegetables grown on his family farm. Ron has always loved his mother’s authentic Mexican cooking and is the one with the vision to share her delicious salsas and sauces with you.

Vice President: Linda (Alvarado) Contreras

Linda is Isabel’s first child, and she has dedicated her life to helping others through nursing and community involvement. She has spent over 35 years as a registered nurse in New Mexico, and as a nurse, she understands good nutrition is tied to a healthier life. So, when discussion of commercializing her mother’s all natural salsas and sauces arose, she jumped at the opportunity to help put healthy food on your table.

Secretary/Treasurer: Kathy (Roso) Alvarado

Kathy was fortunate to join the Alvarado family when she married Ron. She grew up around the restaurant business; she and her brothers still own and operate their bar and grill. Kathy spent over 20 years in the insurance industry, and is currently dedicating her time to raising their two daughters and bringing Chavela's salsa to you.
